Jaden Pang, 18, from the North Shore of Oahu found out late this October that she has a Cancer called Osteosarcoma. Osteosarcoma a type of cancer that starts in the bones and usually develops in children and young adults. The cancer develops in areas where the bone is growing quickly, such as near the ends of the long bones. Jaden’s tumor is in the distal femur (the lower part of the thigh bone). She is undergoing extensive chemotherapy treatments in preparation for surgery to replace the cancerous bone with a prosthetic followed by more chemotherapy treatments. It is a very grueling treatment program, but Jaden is staying positive and focused on recovering.

The Pang family has been a North Shore fixture since forever and has helped with countless efforts in our community. Dennis and Dana have always worked hard to provide a great life for their children, Jaden and Makana. Dennis, a world-renowned surfboard shaper and surfer and Dana, before becoming the manager of the North Shore Watershed at Turtle Bay, spent years teaching. Jaden loves to surf but her true love is horses. She competed in high school rodeo for years where her true talents shined. Jaden has also competed in events with the Extreme Cowboy Association.

Jaden is looking forward to June, when her treatment is complete and she can get back to living life to its fullest. The medical bills will be astronomical as we can imagine. We (you and I) can help with donations to the Jaden Pang Medical fund. Please consider donating any amount possible to help this family get through this trying time. http://www.gofundme.com/hyfxe0

Also on December 16th from 6PM to Midnight is Jade's Fundraiser Night at the Surfer Bar at the Turtle Bay Resorts. Some of the action going down include both a silent and live auction.
