Garland Wins GJ / KD Custom Jewelry Airshow

Santa Barbara's Kilian Garland took out the KD Expression Session Airshow presented by Ghetto Juice mag this weekend. The event was held in conjunction with the ASP Shoe City Pro and saw eight finalists competing in a 30-minute final prior to the grand finals of the main event. Halfway through the heat Kilian pulled off a heavy rotation air in the dumpy shorebreak that earned him a cool $1,000 and a $600 ring from KD Custom Jewelry.

The GJ Airshow has been a fixture in the APSS events since its conception in 2012 and didn't disappoint this year as the finalists flew and flung their way toward the best progressive move of the event. While the conditions for aerials were a little tough, due to such a heavy shorebreak, Kilian pulled off an air the judges scored at a mere 6.0 but since no one else even came close to pulling an air, Killian walked with the cash and bragging rights until the next event. Special thanks to the ASP, Shoe City, KD Custom Jewelry and all the competitors who risked life and limb in the shorebreak to stoke out the hundreds of people watching from the pier and shoreline.
